Golf Course Reef

Bodysurfer Greg Cogar enjoys the long left on solid winter swell

Mollymook, NSW Australia

  • Tide: Best bodysurfing conditions are normally going off on Low and Middle tide
  • Wind: Blowing in from the West is most suitable
  • Swell: A pumping South East swell is ideal
  • Notes: Long left-hander breaking on reef. Rights do break and are also good value.

Break Information

Golfie is a reef break offering both lefts and rights the left-hander is one off the best around the South Coast of NSW.

Best conditions on a low tide and South to South East swell with West to South West winds.

Holds big surf well but is usually flat in summer on smaller swells. Dolphins travel up and down the area and often swim very close to see what you’re doing.

One Response to Golf Course Reef

  • A short drive down the road from me is Golf Course Reef, I normally ride my longboard here, but it is an excellent bodysurfing waves and has the right speed and length to get some awesome rides. I am trying to find someone local to take some more photographs but it’s hard because the waves are so good we are all in the water.
